Objective

The Global Communications Newsletter aims at providing readers with a global view of the world communications scenario by disseminating regional communications news among all society members. GCN also intends to make ComSoc well known by their members by publishing reports about ComSoc structure and activities The Global Communications Newsletter aims to be instrumental to the Globalization process of ComSoc.

Organizational Structure

The Global Communications Newsletter is administered by the GCN Editor. The GCN Editor is a member of the Magazines Board. The GCN Editor shall stimulate submissions as well as editing articles. The GCN Editor shall work closely with the New York ComSoc Staff to GCN production.

The GCN editorial board is also composed of an Associate Editor and a group of regional correspondents. The Associate Editor shall help the Editor with his duties, and Regional Correspondents shall periodically provide articles about their own region. The GCN Editorial Board members are appointed by the GCN Editor, drawing upon a field of candidates from the membership at large, with special attention given to individuals who have previously served in related capacities.

The GCN Editor shall confer with the Director of Magazines in making a selection. Members of the Editorial Board shall serve during the Editor term.

Activities

The Global Communications Newsletter is published monthly. It contains articles about communications from all over the world as well as articles about ComSoc activities and structure such as ComSoc technical committees and ComSoc conferences. It periodically publishes articles about ComSoc Chapters in its Chapter Corner
