Objectives
The primary purpose of IEEE Network, which is published bimonthly, is to inform readers on topics of interest to the networking community. As such, IEEE Network provides a focus for highlighting and discussing major computer communications issues and developments. The articles are intended to be of a survey or tutorial nature, slanted towards the practical, and comprehensible to the non-specialist.
Organizational Structure
IEEE Network magazine is edited by an Editorial Board, made up of an Editor-in-Chief, a small number of Senior Technical Editors, Technical Editors, and Feature Column Editors; and supported by the Production Staff. The Editor-in-Chief is a member of the Magazines Board.
The Editor-in-Chief directs magazine technical content, manages the Technical Editors, and establishes future magazine technical policy. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for processing articles received from the open call. The Editor-in-Chief interacts with the ComSoc Interactive Magazines Editor for publication in the on-line version of the Magazine: Network Interactive (NI). The Editor-in-Chief and Senior Technical Editors review proposals for Special Issues.
Members of the Editorial Board are appointed to their positions by the Editor-in-Chief for a nominal two-year term, with terms extendable to another year, based on mutual agreement of the Editor-in-Chief and the Member of the Editorial Board. The Editor-in-Chief may confer with the Director of Magazines in making a selection.
Technical Editors participate in discussions that shape the technical direction of the Magazine and serve as reviewers for open call papers. For each Special Issue, a Senior Technical Editor or Technical Editor is appointed by the Editor-in-Chief as liaison editor to help guest editors in their duties.
