Gear Up for the IEEE WCET Exam

IEEE WCET Certification Exam window this Fall is 2-29 October 2011. To ensure a spot in the current testing window, candidates are encouraged to complete the application by 16 September 2011.

Earning the IEEE Wireless Communications Professional (WCP) credential effectively demonstrates that you possess practical problem-solving skills in real-world situations.

The exam is vendor-neutral, trans-national in scope, based on practical knowledge and experience.

It consists of 150 multiple choice questions encompassing the wireless areas of RF engineering, propagation and antennas; access technologies; network and service architecture; network management and security; facilities infrastructure; agreements, standards, policies and regulations; and fundamental knowledge. Become certified in wireless by IEEE and show that you have a thorough understanding of different key technologies in the wireless area, local market implications of wireless communications, and new technology / standards development.

There are multiple ways for the exam preparation: 

1) Take the new online practice exam. It's $50.00 and consists of 75 questions in all seven areas covered on the WCET Certification exam.

2) Review other resources available. Visit www.ieee-wcet.org to learn more about the IEEE WCET Certification Program and gain access to free resources.

3) Take the 5-Day Virtual Intensive Course on Wireless Communications Engineering set for 26-30 September 2011. Although this course does not teach the exam, it does review all seven areas covered on the exam. Anecdotally, the course in combination with reviewing the Wireless Engineering Body of Knowledge (WEBOK) book have been cited as helpful resources for those who have passed the exam. The WEBOK is included in the course materials. Register by 9 September to save $100.
