IEEE Communications Society and EastWest Institute renew collaboration agreement during 3rd Worldwide CyberSecurity Summit in New Delhi

IEEE Communications Society and EastWest Institute renew collaboration agreement during 3rd Worldwide CyberSecurity Summit in New Delhi

More than 300 participants from 22 countries convened at the EastWest Institute’s 3rd Worldwide Cybersecurity Summit held on 30-31 October 2012 in New Delhi, India. Among them are experts, stakeholders and decision-makers from industry, government and academia, with the common goal to advance international policy to promote the security, stability and safety of cyberspace.

As with the first two, this 3rd Summit is sponsored by the EastWest Institute, in partnership with its co-sponsor IEEE Communications Society.

As technical innovation has skyrocketed, the global economy has become increasingly digitalized. Cyber crime exploiting the technologies is on the rise, but the agreements, standards, policies and regulations we need to secure cyberspace lag far behind. The event signifies a call for "a global agreement" on how to protect the key infrastructure of the digital world.

Vijay Bhargava, president of the IEEE ComSoc, signs a MOU with EWI President John Mroz during 3rd Worldwide CyberSecurity Summit in New Delhi, India. IEEE ComSoc and EWI continue to work close together with the world's technical and policy leaders toward solving the challenges of worldwide cybersecurity.
