Sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society and the IEICE Communications Society and the Science Council of Japan, IEEE International Conference on Communications 2011 (IEEE ICC 2011) started today (5 June 2011) at the Kyoto International Conference Center in Kyoto, Japan. Registration began at 8:00 A.M. Attendees from all over the world gradually arrived and attended Tutorials, Workshops, followed by a grand Welcome Reception at the beautiful ICC Kyoto Garden.
“IEEE ICC brings together the world’s leading researchers from academia and industry working in all areas of telecommunications and networking,” says the General Chair Noritaka Uji from his greeting, “Kyoto City reigned as the capital of Japan for 1200 years, and is known as the culture heart of Japan. With the theme of 'Source of Innovation: Back to the Origin,' the conference is expected to provide opportunities to rethink traditions and conventions, which will lead to epoch-making innovations.”
The overall program consists of 3 distinguished keynote speeches, 8 plenary talks by executive leaders from industry and academia, and 10 business forum panels, in addition to the 12 technical symposia, 9 workshops, and 16 tutorials.
Industry-led exhibitions for telecommunication systems and services open from Monday 6 June through Wednesday 8 June.
