The Internet Health Model for Cybersecurity - New Report for Free Download

The number of Internet users reached two billion in March 2011, and an estimated another billion will be added by 2016. The latest news from EWI states, the Internet puts people, systems, and networks in constant contact worldwide. It need a global, coordinated effort to protect digital systems from online threats — just like the public health community’s efforts to defend our bodies from illness.

IEEE Communications Society has partnered with EastWest Institute (EWI) to study critical issues in cybersecurity. The Internet Health Model for Cybersecurity - a new report released by a team of experts convened by EWI and sponsored by Microsoft Corporation, examines how the model of international public health can inform efforts to track and block malware and other malicious actors, and the possibility of applying a public health model to cyberspace.

The report is available to our readers for free access and download.
