Open Call for ComSoc Publication Editors

Open Call for ComSoc Publication Editors

Volunteers who are interested in becoming part of the editorial board may apply for the position at:

http://www.comsoc.org/Editor   Applicants will be asked for the following information: Journals for which they would like to work, areas of expertise, prior editing experience, prior technical program committee experience, the names of three Editors for whom the applicant has performed reviews, and five representative papers.

Preference will be given to those: Who have performed several quality reviews for the journals/magazines; have demonstrated solid technical accomplishments; and have integrity, ethical standards, and a reputation of reliability. All things being equal, serious consideration will be given to candidates who come from under-represented regions of the IEEE. Evidence of enthusiasm for this kind of professional service is also important.

Performance of the duties requires: A time commitment to handle at least two manuscripts per month; arranging for at least three reviews in a timely fashion (say within three months); and the ability to make a firm and fair decision.

The decision to appoint an editor rests with the Editor-in-Chief of the journal/magazine who has the knowledge of the particular expertise needed and who may need to balance the geographic/gender makeup of their editorial board. Please note that, due to the very large number of responses expected, it will not be possible to send individual acknowledgments.
