Rulei Ting has been with AT&T & Bell Labs in New Jersey USA for 20+ years, with responsibilities from Distinguished MTS to Senior Technical Director. He contributed to the successes of FT2000 that became an outstanding technology and industry success and delivered multi-billion dollars revenue. He pioneered AT&T’s business development in Asia-Pacific region. He also served as Senior Director in telecommunication equipment start-ups. Rulei is a recipient of AT&T Bell Labs President Award; IEEE Millennium Award; IEEE Region-1 Award. He holds two US patents.
Over the past 15 years, Rulei has volunteered as a ComSoc Chapter Chair, IEEE New Jersey Coast Section ExCom, and led ComSoc’s Engineering Certification and Education efforts. Being the Ad hoc WCET Committee Chair, he is instrumental in motivating a global team of volunteers developing the exam items, constructing the exams, as well as setting up the strategies and launching partnership efforts. As a result, his Chapter received ComSoc Global Chapter Achievement Award 2003; his team efforts led to the financial turnaround of WCET programs. Dr. Ting also served on IEEE ComSoc’s Education and Professional Training Board for the past four years. He has been awarded with The President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award of USA.
Rulei Ting earned B.S. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China; Ph.D. from CUNY, New York City, USA. Dr. Ting earned Executive Master’s in Technology Management at Wharton and Penn Engineering of University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA.
