Carlos Lozano Garzon

Carlos A. Lozano-Garzon receives his System Engineer degree from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogota, Colombia, in 2004. Currently is PhD Student of both: Universidad de los Andes at the Computing and System Engineering Department in Bogota, Colombia; and Universitat de Girona at the Institut d'informatica i Aplicacions in Girona, Spain. He worked as part-time professor at Universidad Nacional de Colombia (2001-2005), Universidad Catolica de Colombia (2006 - 2008), as associated professor at Universidad de San Buenaventura (2005 - 2012) and as visiting professor at Universidad Nacional de Asunción (Jul. 2014, Sept 2015). C

arlos Lozano served as DLT/DSP Coordinator ComSoc Latin-America (2012 - 2015), Membership Development ComSoc Coordinator Latin-America (2010 - 2011), Universidad de San Buenaventura ComSoc Student Chapter Advisor (2008 - 2012), ComSoc Colombian Chapter Chair (2007 - 2009) and Technical Activities Coordinator at ComSoc Colombia (2006 - 2007). Also he was chair of IEEE Colombian Conference on Communications and Computing at several times; co-chair of the IEEE Latin-American Conference on Communications 2009, and Conference of the Andean Council IEEE – ANDESCON 2010; and served as Publicity Vice-chair for Latin-America of IEEE Globecom 2015.

He received the IEEE Computer Society Upsilon Pi Epsilon Student Award for Academic Excellence in 2014, IEEE Region 9 Outstanding Branch Counselor and Advisor Award in 2013, IEEE Region 9 Theodore W. Hissey Award in 2013, IEEE Computer Society Richard E. Merwin Student Scholarship in 2012, and the IEEE Communication Society - Latin America Region Distinguished Service Award in 2010.
