SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHS
In preparation for the 50th Anniversary of IEEE GLOBECOM, ComSoc  is requesting photographs from previous NTC and GLOBECOM conferences from 1959 to the present.  Electronic photos can be sent to GLOBECOM50th@yahoo.com.  If you have photos that need to be scanned, they can be sent to IEEE Communications Society, 3 Park Avenue, NY, NY 10016, Attention: Gayle Weisman.  All photo will be returned.

2007 ComSoc Elections Assumes a New e-Face! The 2007 ComSoc Board of Governor’s election will begin in June and run through August 10. This year 4 new VPs and 4 new Members-at-Large will be elected to the Board.  A new format will be trialed this year and next year call e-first voting.  Ballots will be sent electronically to all voting members who will be asked to vote at a secure Web site.  Members wishing to vote with a paper ballot have the option of requesting one be mailed to them.

As normal, the biography and position statement of each candidate will be available to voters via a link to the ComSoc Web site.  Since IEEE policy does not permit the use of IEEE e-mail lists for electioneering, the Nominations and Elections Committee is promoting an organized electioneering process for the VP candidates using a Question and Answer format.  The Q and A will appear in future e-News issues, on the ComSoc Web site, and in the Communications Magazine.

ComSoc is making a consorted effort this year to inform members of the upcoming election, and urge them to “get out and vote!”

The IEEE Communications Society will exhibit at the IEEE DySPAN (17-20 April) and IEEE VTC (22-25 April) conferences in Dublin, Ireland. Both conferences will be at the Burlington Hotel. Stop by, pick up a copy of IEEE Communication Magazine, and discover what’s new at ComSoc.
