From the President...
Last month, while it was still winter, I suggested we pick up a recent issue of one of ComSoc's prestigious publications and read about the latest and greatest advances in our field. Now that it's officially spring (but still feeling like "Winter in New Jersey"), I would like to suggest we start planning our travel to one of ComSoc's many conferences, symposia or workshops. Conferences are "where people meet," and play an essential role in rounding out one's professional career through meeting with peers and keeping up with "the competition." Also, many of our conferences take place in exciting venues around the world, providing a great opportunity for some added sightseeing. The April issue of Communications Magazine President's Page, titled, "Conferences - Where People Meet," is devoted to this important Society activity. In it, our VP Conferences, Mark Karol, summarizes the activity - and provides some ideas about how we may expand our conferences to make them more accessible even to those who may not be able to attend in person. I invite you to read the article at http://www.comsoc.org/livepubs/ci1/public/2008/apr/index.html. Until next month, again thanks for being an eNews subscriber, as well as for your ongoing interest in Communications Society activities.
