WELCOME
Welcome to the Oct. issue of ComSoc
e-News 2001. As usual, we have compiled a list of upcoming paper submission
deadlines
for conferences and special issues of magazines/journals, the earliest
of which is Nov. 15. Readers interested in making submissions should
check specific conference/special issue web sites for deadlines in case
changes are made after publication of this e-News issue.
We
should all be proud of the standing of ComSoc publications in the recent
rankings
announced by the annual Journal Citation Study. This issue also has a call
for nominations for the prestigious IEEE award
in International Communication, a call to ComSoc members to have their
companies join the IEEE ComSoc 50th Anniversay Leadership
Circle, a call for participation in IWNA4, which
was postponed due to the tragic events of the recent past, and other news
articles from our society, technical committees, IEEE chapters, publication
editors, IEEE Press, etc.

on!
