April 28-30 the students at ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico, held a communications conference open to engineering students. Although this was the first time that Simposium IEEE de Telecomunicaciones en Monterrey SITEM was run as a conference, the event attracted almost 300 students. The event was held the week before exams, but the attendance was good at every session, and at the social events in the evenings. The IEEE Communications Student Branch Chapter organized the event. Many students were involved in organization, led by Carlos Lopez, Diana Colion, Manuel Villanueva, Lucia Martinez and Lucia Cantu.

Curtis Siller, President of Communications Society, and Celia Desmond, Past President of ComSoc both gave keynote presentations which were well attended.

Congratulations to the students who worked so hard to make the event a reality.
