California-based Firetide has implemented a 231-mile-long wireless network in Thailand. The company says this is the world's longest wireless mesh network. The system delivers real-time, high-definition video of the flood-prone Chao Phraya River basin. It replaces the personal visits made until recently by the now-84-year-old King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who is no longer to make his annual journey up the river.
