Ham Radio Activities
The pioneering role of Radio Amateurs in the advancement of science and communications technology is universally known. Their involvement with disaster management is well documented.
Ham Radio licence examinations are currently on hold until the Spectrum Management Authority decides when these will continue. It is expected that examinations will now be organized on a scheduled basis, perhaps twice per year, as long as there is a demand. In this examination, the first of the two parts for Class B or C includes electronics and circuit theory, operating procedures, as well as rules and regulations. The second part is receiving and sending Morse Code. The speed requirement for this examination should be ten words per minute.

October 2003. The event was hosted in Jamaica from JARA Club Station in the Red
Cross Building 76 Arnold Road, Kingston 4. Twenty-two Scouts communicated with
others in the USA. Most of the time was spent with a team from North
Carolina. Many thanks to the team who made it possible.
