IMT-Advanced technologies are being developed and standardized primarily in 3GPP and IEEE Standards Board. ITU-R working party 5D is currently evaluating candidate technologies. With this in view, the panel will look at the following issues:
- Role players that have been involved presently and in the past and experiences so far
- Globalization of IMT-advanced and activities in the ITU-R
- The evaluation process; what is unique and what are potential outcomes
