AICA - Associazione Italiana
per lInformatica ed il Calcolo Automatico - is the point of
reference in Italy for the professionals of the Information &
Communication Technology (ICT).
It was founded in 1961. It is a no-profit Association
whose goal is to foster the development of knowledge in the ICT
area, in all its scientific, application, economic ans social aspects.
Its activity has flanked from the very beginning
the development of ICT in Italy. Its initiatives, its relationship
with the international community and its neutrality have led to
its actual recognition of being:
- the meeting point among the main players in the
ICT area in Italy: Universities, Research Centres, Industrial
players and Institutions;
- the Agorà to discuss and challenge the
hot topics of the Digital Society: from the professional and occupational
perspectives to the efficiency of the services to the e-citizen,
to the dissemination of ICT knowledge to large part of the Italian
population;
- the reference point for the definition, dissemination
and valuation of eSkills;
- the Euroepan Certified Institution for certifying
Computer Science competence of users and professionals;
- the lab for the innovation of education programs
and for qualification of competence in the public sector.
