Adams holds a B.A. in English from Marietta College and an M.B.A. from the Rutgers University executive program.

Candidate’s Statement

The strengths of traditional communications providers – knowing how to manage huge-scale public networks reliably – are viewed by many new entrants as being ‘old-fashioned’ or perhaps ‘overweight.’ Changing this perception – and getting credit for what they offer – will be essential if telecom companies are to be thought of as ‘e-business providers’ that deserve a fair share of high-margin, value-added revenues. Otherwise, the good old reliable telecom companies will become commodity suppliers of bandwidth, earning steady but unspectacular returns as they serve the high fliers. ComSoc, as the premier technical speaker for the industry, could have tremendous influence in turning this around.
