Candidate’s Statement
In my IEEE activities, I have always focused on member needs, creating and implementing programs such as Chapter of the Year Award, lecture tours, and liaison between IEEE and local members and industry. As President of the Communications Society, I will ensure that we learn more about member and industry needs, and implement additional programs to address these needs, including various forms of electronic information distribution.
During over 20 years of service, I have attended many conferences and visited many Chapters discussing ideas on how to share information and services world-wide. I will continue to evolve ComSoc as a global society.
At local, Society, and Board levels, I have learned methods of achieving results within IEEE and formed many contacts that will help meet Society goals. As President, I will work with the local members, Chapters, Board members and also local industry and IEEE executives to provide the best professional and technical services to ComSoc members. I will ensure that the Communications Society continues to disseminate quality technical information via traditional and new technologies, enhancing the possibilities for networking of engineers.
