Harvey Freeman
Candidate's Statement
As Treasurer for the past four years and as the current Vice President
Technical Activities, I continue to work to restore the Society
to its former strong financial health, to move quickly into new
technologies, to reach out to colleagues in small and medium-size
organizations that do not participate in ComSoc activities, and
to compete with online publications and educational products on
the basis of our intellectual property and with new tools and ideas.
As President I will expand on these and other activities. I will
strengthen our global position by working more closely with local
members, Chapters, Sister Societies, and IEEE executives. I will
lead the Society away from recent telecom disasters and the continuing
global economic downturn, enhancing its position as the premier
organization of communications industry professionals. With your
vote, I will use my 23 years of extensive Communications Society
activity to take the Society to a new level of professional society
achievement.
