Leonard J. Cimini, Jr.
Candidate's Statement
While the Communications Society should be proud of its publications
and conferences, several challenges must be addressed if the Society
is to play an influential role in the rapidly changing world of
communications. ComSoc publications and conferences must become
more timely and relevant and must be more accessible to a broader
audience. In addition, to bridge the growing divide between academic
and industrial needs, an outlet must be provided for emerging, often
interdisciplinary, technical areas. I believe that my background
in both industry and academia, combined with my diverse IEEE service
activities, will enable me to effectively initiate action on these
issues.
