Candidate's Statement

I hope to contribute to the following ComSoc activities:

  • Promote effective international conferences based on having organized several major IEEE conferences as General/Executive Chair (ICC’07 with 1400 participants, IEMC’03 with 350 participants, EUA’05 with 650 participants, ICASSP’89 with 1650 participants), and stimulate greater participation from industry and industry relevant events (amply demonstrated in ICC ’07).
  • Promote timely and rapid publications:  having served as IEEE TAB Chair of Periodicals Council, I have the experience and understanding to minimize time delays, maintain/improve quality.
  • Member services:  improve local/global opportunities through more effective chapters,  link industry to academe, and improve professional development/educational opportunities through collaboration with EAB.
