Joe Evans
Candidate's Statement
In order to provide value to the membership, ComSoc needs to be dynamic and continue to adapt as communications and networking technology advances. As an organization, this means that ComSoc needs to have the ability to spawn new focus areas, even those in the cracks between traditional areas, and nurture them through stages of workshops, conferences, and journal or magazine issues. In addition to traditional means for technical exchange, ComSoc can tie these efforts into IEEE standards activities to provide an expedited path to practical use. If elected, I will encourage ComSoc to provide value to the membership by offering a path for rapidly taking their ideas to technical audiences and beyond.
