Romano Fantacci
Candidate's Statement
An important goal of ComSoc is to ensure top level quality of its publications and conferences and to play a major role in innovation for industry and academia. A major challenge in an information world that is very distributed is for ComSoc’s outstanding publications and technical committees to remain a focal point where members can turn to capture emerging technologies and trends. Furthermore, this is no longer just a matter of technical excellence. This needs to be coupled with relevance to industry; and, therefore, we need to add the business view to the technical view.
If elected, I will help our Society fulfill these challenges and become a better source of technical information. I will strive to increase the Communications Society’s globalization efforts to promote cooperation with Sister Societies and also work to enable interdisciplinary collaborations leveraging on local chapters’ activities.
