Rob Fish
Candidate's Statement
ComSoc should remain true to the essential vision of volunteers working together globally to create, promote, and share technical information in communications engineering and science. I would like to help ComSoc address the following opportunities and challenges:
- Our conferences need to be well run, cost-effective, conveniently located, and tailored to the needs of specific communities of interest
- Our publications need to be comprehensive, timely, and authoritative; meeting the needs of academics and practicing engineers
- ComSoc needs to recruit members globally and then provide meaningful services, especially on-line, to those members
- Industry needs to accept ComSoc as a partner in education, certification, and standards so that our collective wisdom can have maximum impact on the world
I would work with ComSoc’s leadership, the rest of the BoG, and our many volunteer-run conferences, technical committees, and chapters in order to reach these goals and keep ComSoc as the core of our technical community.
