Leonard G. Abraham Award

Baochum Li received the B.Engr. degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China and the M.S degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, both in computer science. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His research interests include quality-of-service, application-aware adaptation, multimedia networking, resource management, and distributed computing.

Klara Nahrstedt received the A.B and M.Sc degrees in mathematics from Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in the Department of Computer Science, where she does research on quality-of-service (QoS)–aware systems with emphasis on end-to-end resource management and middleware issues for distributed multimedia systems. She is the co-author of the widely used multimedia book Multimedia: Computing, Communications and Applications (Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-Hall, 1995). Dr. Nahrstedt is the recipient of the Early NSF CAREER Award and the Junior Xerox Award for Research Achievements.
