ComSoc Standards Board Page
 
 


The ComSoc Standards Board is made up of a maximum of five representatives selected from nominations from the ComSoc Technical Committees. The principal task of the Standards Board is to encourage, nurture, and guide ComSoc standards initiatives and the resulting Working Groups. The Standards Board shall proactively advance the visibility and influence of ComSoc standards activities. The Standards Board is responsible for maintaining and interpreting the content of the "IEEE Communications Society Policies and Procedures on Standards Development Activities" document. The Standards Board
Director reports to the ComSoc Vice President-Technical Activities. The Standards Director is also responsible for maintaining relations with the IEEE Standards Board and its standing committees.



 

IEEE Communications Society sponsors IEEE P1901(TM) Standard to define communication channel for Broadband-Over-Powerline systems. The new standard is targeted for complete in 2007. For more information, see the press release
