Abstract

The advances in digital telecommunications that have taken place during the past twenty-five years represent both a technological and an economic revolution.  In this presentation, David Cooke will share his insights concerning the factors that have affected the market performance of the telecommunications industry, both historically and recently.

About the Speaker:

David Cooke holds an BASc in Engineering from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from York University.  He is registered as both a Professional Engineer and a Chartered Financial Analyst.  He is currently the lead manager of the new Royal e-Commerce Fund and is a member of the U.S. Equity Committee managing the Royal U.S. Equity Fund and the Royal Life Science and Technology Fund. David joined Royal Bank Investment Management Inc. (RBIM) in March 2000 after spending five years with Altamira where he co-managed their science and technology fund, U.S. small cap fund and was also a member of the team managing the e-business fund and global equity funds. He has seven years experience in the telecommunications sector, including positions with Unitel Communications where he was Senior Manager, Asset Management, and the Canadian Forces where he served as a Captain in the Communications and Electronics Engineering branch.
