Abstract
With the successful launch of "Canada Now", CBC British Columbia's new
digital production facilities in downtown Vancouver have passed their first
major test. In the future, these state-of-the-art facilities will
allow CBC to shift seamlessly into high definition television production.
This tour will give attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the studios and
control rooms that support CBC Radio One and Two and CBC
Television in B.C. It will also provide insight into the technical
issues that confronted the regional engineering staff as they planned and
implemented this major upgrade.
About the Speaker:
Ian Munro, PEng, is regional engineer at CBC British Columbia.
He also serves as vice-chair of the WCTC Broadcast Committee. Before
joining CBC in 1989, he worked in the cable television industry.
He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University
of Waterloo.
