ComSoc recognizes and rewards outstanding achievements among its more than 155 chapters scattered throughout the world. Each chapter faces a unique set of challenges, a good portion of which are regional in nature. In recognition of that fact, the Chapter Achievement Program has been revised this year to give every chapter an opportunity to be recognized.

Every year, each Regional Director (RD) will nominate one or more chapters believed to be deserving of an achievement award. The chapters and then ranked. The RD will also provide rational for her/his nominations. From those lists, the ComSoc Director – Membership Programs Development, using a matrix previously supplied to the Regional Directors, will select a chapter to receive the ComSoc Chapter-of-the-Year Award, carrying with it a prize of $2,000.

If a Regional Director believes there is/are worthy Chapter(s) in the respective region, the following awards may be granted:

1. Best Chapter in the Region (if any): $1,000
2. 2nd Best Chapter in the Region (if any): $500
3. 3rd Best Chapter in the Region (if any): $250

As a result of the Regional Director’s decisions, a region may end up with no awards. However, the above process allows chapters from all regions to be considered for an award.

Under this program, a chapter may not receive more than one award.

The Regional Directors will consider the following items:

Chapter experienced Membership growth
Chapter sent a representative to the last GCCC/RCCC
Communications Industry involved in chapter activities
Organized full day (min) seminar, symposium or conference
Responded to annual ComSoc questionnaire
Chapter financial reserves are equal 1.5 times last year's expenditures
