In 2005 The First Situation Management Workshop SIMA 2005 was organized in collaboration with MILCOM 2005. The second SIMA 2006 will be organized in October with MILCOM 2006 (see http://www.milcom.org/2006/sima.html).A track on Situation Management was held at the 9th International Conference on Information Fusion in Florence Italy. 10-13 July 2006 (see http://fusion.carthel.com/) July 2006 – Cooperation with ITU-D on e-HealtcareAssociate Professor Pradeep Ray is leading two initiatives. The first one is the ITU-D Question 14 (Telecommunication for Healthcare) which has been extended for the next cycle (2006-2009) by the WSIS. The focus will be mobile e-Health following an initiative on mobile e-Health for developing countries. Our work at Indonesia and India (in Tsunami affected areas) has established the need for e-Health kiosks for village centres in developing countries. Q14 will now study the need and effectiveness of broadband technologies also. The second one is driven by the WHO which has commissioned the first Research Study on e-Health Assessment for Health Care Delivery (eHCD). This initiative, launched in June 2006, is now being conducted in six countries namely India, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Fiji and Sri Lanka. June 2006 – Preparations for EntNet 2006 CompletedEntNet in 2006 is co-located with the International Engineering Consortium's (IEC) Broadband World Forum Americas in Vancouver, Canada during 12-14 September 2006. After taking advantage of the Exhibit floor at Broadband World Forum Americas, EntNet's Keynote Address, Technology Panel Sessions, Educational Courses and Workshop on Wireless Technologies for Converged Services provide an opportunity to look at where the industry is heading and to discuss burning issues in enterprise technology and business, while listening to leading industry and research experts. We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver! May 2006 – Heng-Shuen Chen leads Healthcom 2007Healthcom in 2007 will focus on Ubiquitous Healthcare (u-Health) based on wireless broadband technologies, particularly in the context of Asian countries such as Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong which have the best coverage of broadband wireless communication in the world today.
