Abdelbaset S. Hamza (S’08-M’17) received the B.S. (Hons.) degree in 2008 and M.Sc. degree in 2011 in electronics and communication engineering from the Institute of Aviation Engineering and Technology and Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt, respectively, and the Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln, NE, USA in 2018.
He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science in Appalachian State University (AppState), Boone, NC, USA. Before joining AppState, Hamza was an instructor with the Department of Engineering Education at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA. His research interests include design and performance analysis of wireless, data center, and Internet-of-Things (IoT) networks with emphasis on optical wireless communication technology.
