About ComSoc

Hanna Bogucka

2022 Member-at-Large
Europe, Middle East, Africa Region

Position Statement

I have been serving IEEE ComSoc for over 10 years, including as the Director of the EMEA Region. There are specific challenges in this region, particularly now, in the time of war, pandemic and climate changes. IEEE should take the direction of assistance and support for its members in war-torn countries, level disproportions in access to information and knowledge, support digital and communication inclusion, and research on reducing the carbon footprint of modern technologies.

If elected, I will undertake efforts to promote ComSoc membership, and I will endeavor to ensure that this membership results in solidarity and expansion of cooperation between geographical, economic and political regions of EMEA. I will initiate programs to support inclusiveness in research. I will support green communication initiatives and research on reducing the modern economy carbon footprint by using ICT. As a scientist and entrepreneur, I will promote scientific and industrial cooperation in our region.
