NI Campus

For more than 40 years, National Instruments (NI) has developed high-performance automated test and automated measurement systems to help engineers and scientists. National Instruments Corporate Headquarters, located in Austin, Texas, is at the forefront of research and development with world class laboratories and technical teams focussing on engineering challenges across all industries.

The NI headquarters campus is a certified wildlife habitat with more than one mile of wooded walking trails. Deer, fox, turkey, heron and more wildlife call the campus home. More than 60% of the campus is in its original, natural state with a healthy functioning ecosystem. Many employees take to the trails as a break during their workday.

The campus is easily accessible from the Mopac Highway (also known as Loop 1) service road and is directly opposite The Domain, a modern city space with shopping, fashion, restaurants, bars and many hotels to choose from.

Visitor registration is available on the ground floor of Building B.

Don’t believe the old cowboy western films and their barren deserts – Texas features huge expanses of greenery. Austin’s parks and lakes encourage an active lifestyle for those who enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, and boating. And if you want to try some great Tex-Mex and barbecue, Austin offers many restaurants that serve those local favourites, plus a wide range of other dining options including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free.

Austin features an International airport with connections to all major airports in the USA and direct flights to Europe and Central America. Travel from the airport to National Instruments takes on average 30 minutes. Options for getting around Austin by train or bus can be limited, however ride share apps such as Uber and Lyft are very popular. Taxis and Car Rental options are also plentiful.

Weather in July will be hot, typically with a daytime highest temperature of 90 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (32-37 Celsius). All buildings and vehicles are fitted with powerful air conditioning, so travelling with a warm layer such as a light sweater or cardigan is recommended. Dress code in Austin is liberal and most venues are happy with skirts, shorts and T-shirts for either genders.

Known as the ‘Live Music Capital of the World’, Austin is home to many famous musicians and live music is a very popular evening activity at cafes and bars around the city. The legal age for consumption of alcohol is 21 and photo identification is required very often, regardless of age. Dress code for the classroom is preferably ‘business-casual’ (also known as ‘smart-casual’). Full suits and ties are not required.
