Testing Windows and Application Deadlines

The "testing window" is the time period during which the IEEE WCET™ exam is offered. There are two testing windows annually. Candidates may test on any date during the testing window, depending upon availability at the testing centers. Each testing window has a separate application period as noted above.

Application Process

All candidates who submit an application will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours indicating that their application was successfully transmitted. Within seven (7) business days of submitting a completed application, you will receive an Authorization to Schedule notice via email providing information on how to schedule your examination.

After submitting your application, you will be issued a IEEE WCET ID number that is required to schedule your examination. This is also your unique ID number for any future IEEE examinations as well as for recertification. Your number is very important!

Applications for the first testing window in 2019 will be accepted starting 2 January 2019.

Authorization to Schedule

Upon successfully completing the application, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours indicating your application and exam fee were successfully transmitted. Special Accommodation Requests

IEEE ComSoc will, to the best of its ability, accommodate candidates with disabilities who need special arrangements to take the examination. Auxiliary aids and services will be provided except where these may fundamentally alter the examination or result in an undue burden.

PearsonVUE may be unable to comply with special accommodation requests made by candidates taking the examination where local operating conditions or local laws and customs render such requests unlawful, impossible, or economically unfeasible to perform.

A special accommodation request must be made by the candidate at the time of application by marking the appropriate box on the online application. Candidates who request special accommodations must also submit the Special Testing Accommodation Request form and the Documentation of Disability-Related Needs by Qualified Professional form.

Candidates must mail, email or fax special accommodation information to ComSoc within ten (10) business days of the date they submit the application. Candidates who do not provide the requested information within the specified time frame will forfeit all fees.
