Green Communications and Networking: Second Issue

Call for Papers

The inaugural issue of the Series on Green Communications and Networking of the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas and Networking, expected to be published in December 2015, received a very large number of submissions, which are currently under review. To continue this series, we are launching the Call for Papers for the second issue, scheduled to be published in June 2016.

We invite submissions of high-quality manuscripts in the area of green communications and networking. We are seeking papers which have not been published and are not currently under review by any journal. The general scope of this series is papers in green wireline, wireless, and optical communications and networking whose coverage include, but is not limited to, the following

  • Theory, modeling, analysis, optimization
  • Architecture, strategies, algorithms, protocols, scheduling
  • Devices, hardware, software
  • Physical layer approaches
  • Signal processing
  • Quality-of-Service constraints
  • Data storage, data centers, and cloud computing
  • Cognitive communications
  • Smart grid
  • Internet of Things
  • Energy harvesting, storage, and recycling
  • Standardization, evaluation, practice, measurement, policy, and regulation
  • Applications, economics and social issues, interdisciplinary topics

Prospective authors should prepare their submissions in accordance with the rules specified in the “Information for Authors” section of the JSAC guidelines ( All manuscripts should be prepared in single-column double-spaced format with no longer than 30 pages, including figures, tables, and references. The paper should be compiled as a PDF file and submitted to EDAS:

Manuscript submission: July 15, 2015 (Extended to July 31, 2015)
First review results:  October 1, 2015
Second review results: January 15, 2016
Publication: June 1, 2016 (tentative)
