Dr. Manar Jammal: is an Assistant Professor at the School of IT, York University. She has received the B.E.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Lebanese University Lebanon, in 2011, and the M.E.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Ecole Doctorale des Sciences et de Technologie Lebanon and the University of Technology of Compiegne, France, in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree in High Availability of Cloud Applications from Western University, London, Canada, in 2017. During this period, she was a researcher with a leading telecommunication industrial partner, Ericsson Research Montreal, primarily resolving strategic cloud issues related to technology process improvement. She had two inventions disclosure with Ericsson to manage carrier-grade cloud applications and achieve high availability. In January 2018, Manar joined Data Infusion Intelligence Inc. London Canada as Machine Learning Researcher. Manar works on developing cutting-edge data analytics techniques and innovative Machine Learning models in the areas of network function virtualization and cloud computing. Dr. Jammal is a Review Editor for Frontiers in Communications and Networks and a reviewer of multiple IEEE and non-IEEE journals, magazines, and conferences. She is the Past Chair of IEEE Canada Women in Engineering and IEEE Canada WIE Committee. Her research interests include machine learning, software engineering, distributed systems, cloud computing, network function virtualization, 5G systems, IoT, data analytics, high availability, and software defined network.
