How many projects will be implemented?
No projects will be implemented at this time. This is a concept-only competition.

How many winners will be selected?
The Jury will pick the winning teams from each region (North America, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC) with up to 8 winners awarded the following prizes:

  • One first prize project per region will be awarded US $3,000 
  • One second prize winner per region will receive US$2,000
  • One third prize winner will receive US$1,000
  • Each region may award up to five honorable mention winners US$500 each

What regions are participating in the contest?
The Latin American (LATAM), North American, Europe-Mid East-Africa (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions are participating. The formal definition of IEEE Communications Society regional breakdowns can be found on the Find a Chapter page.

Do I need to be a ComSoc member to participate?
If you are submitting a project as an individual, you must be a ComSoc member. If you are submitting a project as a member of a project team, the project leader must be a member. In addition, the project lead who is a ComSoc member must be a member of the chapter in the local community where the project is to be implemented.
