Sustainable ICT News, Insights, Trends & Events

At its core, advances in Sustainable ICT (information and communications technology) are driven by the need to reduce energy consumption, environmental impact and overall carbon footprint of computers, servers and data centers. Researchers and innovators in the field are making strides toward sustainable development by improving device energy efficiency, leveraging renewable energy, and interconnecting smart grids and clouds to conserve energy resources.

IEEE ComSoc is proud to lead the IEEE Sustainable ICT Initiative, a collective of various IEEE societies and other technology initiatives. The initiative seeks to foster the incorporation of green metrics and standards in design concepts for various technical domains. The initiative brings together expertise from different fields, in conferences and publications, with a view to foster holistic design and standardization approaches.
