Course Description

This updated course explores the pivotal aspects of the evolution of cloud-native 5G-Advanced and its path to 6G.  Participants will learn about the transformative journey of 5G-Advanced architecture, functions and features, energy efficiency, multi-access and non-terrestrial network integration, and the evolution of open interoperable networks.  Examples and use cases of massive machine-type communication, time-sensitive industrial control, immersive communication, extended reality and digital twinning, integration of sensing, and adaptive and native AI, will all be discussed and brought together in the context of what to expect in 6G.

The course is thoughtfully designed to help participants understand concepts through illustrations of real-world applications, trends, descriptions of technology and standards evolution, and industry direction. A clear and detailed emphasis on research, innovations, paradigms, educational and operational needs and challenges of the next 3 to 10+ years, on specific aspects and topics will be provided. More details on specific topics covered can be found in the below course outline and learning objectives.
